Johnson was last seen in Sayre, Oklahoma on the evening of November 20, 1970. He was riding around with two friends, Thomas Rios and Jimmy Williams, in Williams's 1969 Chevrolet Camaro. Photographs of the vehicle are posted below this case summary. It has the vehicle identification number (VIN) 124379L517123. The three teens never returned home and have never been heard from again. Williams's vehicle has never been located.
Rios moved to Sayre approximately four months before his disappearance. He was raised by his mother and stepfather in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
