Hill was last seen on Stafford Lane in Barrytown, Alabama, on August 16, 2003. He and another man, Jason Dixon, were suspected of breaking into a storage shed near an oil field owned by a Mississippi company. An area resident confronted the men about the shed, whose lock had been cut. Hill was whittling a stick with his knife at the time. The resident went inside and called the police, then went back outside. Hill said he had warrants for his arrest, and then ran away toward the woods. He has never been heard from again and an extensive search of the area turned up no sign of him. Dixon was later charged with burglarizing the shed.Authorities believe a skeleton found in a trash pile in Barrytown in January 2009 may be Hill's. The bones are still awaiting identification. Hill's case remains unsolved.
