Sky News Headline; says: 'Madeleine McCann's parents were not told by Portuguese police that the man leading the hunt for the missing girl would go public with his belief that the youngster was dead, it has emerged. A family friend said it was "extraordinary" the police had "not had the decency" to tell the couple they now believed Madeleine could be dead before giving interviews to the media.
Speaking on the 100th day of Madeleine's disappearance from an Algarve hotel, Chief Inspector Olegario Sousa said he believed the four-year-old may not be alive. The acknowledgement threatens to open up a rift between the McCanns and police.
The senior officer's comments appear to contradict the message that the McCanns, from Rothley, Leicestershire, have been receiving from investigators. On Tuesday, Mrs McCann said police had told her only the previous week that they were "looking for a living child".
But Mr Sousa said new evidence suggesting Madeleine was killed was being investigated with "intensity".
"In these past few days, there have been some developments, and some clues have been found, that could point in a possible death of the little child," he said.
Sniffer dogs last week discovered blood specks on a wall in the McCanns' holiday flat in the resort of Praia da Luz. The samples have been sent to Britain for DNA tests, which are expected to be returned early this week.
Mr Sousa also said the McCanns and the seven friends with them on holiday when Madeleine disappeared on May 3 were not considered suspects.
That contradicted unconfirmed reports in Portuguese papers last week suggesting they were now under suspicion.

Today is the first time there has been consistent news coverage on Sky in all the weeks that Maddy has disappeared. The pillar of salt came in handy today!!! I still don't 'buy' the story ... and I will NOT be swayed away from what my intuition says. Maddy is alive. Maddy will be returned safe and well. The campaign appears to be changing its tact as someone somewhere decrees a much broader picture. Maybe its time I said who I think the 'Pied Piper' is?

I actually laughed my head off when I saw your Cuddly Cat drawing - obviously thinking how can a toy speak out to prove anything & thought poor Brian’s actually flipped now with over-doing your dreaming etc. I must say you have some guts to risk losing all your credibility …. but look at the news !
It’s certainly a big shame that Kate McCann handled the toy & even washed it. But if the abductor wore gloves maybe there would be no fingerprint/DNA anyway?

Missing Madeleine McCann's favourite pink Cuddle Cat toy was taken from her arms as she slept and placed beyond her reach by her kidnapper. That is why police are certain Madeleine was snatched while she was asleep - and was NOT killed or injured in the holiday apartment.
When her mum Kate, 38, tucked Madeleine into bed, the four-year-old was cuddling the toy - but it was later found placed on a ledge that Madeleine could not have reached.
There is also further "concrete evidence" that Madeleine was still ALIVE when she left the holiday apartment. Her kidnapper had a window of just five minutes to strike - from when dad Gerry last checked on the children until family friend Jane Tanner saw a man carrying away a child she is sure was Madeleine wrapped in a blanket. The new revelations rubbish reports in Portuguese newspapers this week that she was murdered or died in an accident inside the villa. And they come as local police Chief Inspector Olegario Sousa ruled Gerry and Kate out of the inquiry - and admitted for the first time Madeleine could be dead.
Now, the Sunday Mirror can give a true picture of what happened when Kate found her daughter missing. We can reveal:
Police have specific evidence from the apartment that she was still alive
Madeleine was kidnapped as the toy she had fallen asleep with was left on a ledge placed too high for a child to reach
There was a window of less than five minutes for a kidnapper to pounce - not enough time to kill her and clean up
Police do not believe blood found in the apartment was Madeleine's as it was not consistent with signs of a struggle
The patio doors were unlocked but the intruder used the window to escape with Madeleine as the shutters were forced up.
We can also reveal that devastated Kate was reduced to tears several times by the aggressive questioning of Portuguese police this week. And yesterday the parents were hit by further cruel claims in Portuguese papers linking them to Madeleine's disappearance on May 3.
But our dramatic information confirms Madeleine was most likely to have been abducted by a stranger who had watched the family's routine for up to four days.
And it shows Portuguese police from the beginning have had firm evidence Madeleine was still alive when she was taken from the ground-floor apartment.
The McCanns were told in a secret meeting with police within days of Madeleine going missing what this evidence is. They have been unable to discuss it publicly in case it jeopardises the investigation - and have even been banned from telling close friends or family.
Kate has refused to say where she found the Cuddle Cat toy when she returned to the villa in Praia da Luz at about 10pm to find her daughter's bed empty.
But she has hinted the bedroom was left in such a way that she knew almost instantly Madeleine had been kidnapped.
Our police source said: "When Kate tucked Madeleine up in bed earlier in the evening, she had toy tightly in her arms as she did every night. So Kate was terrified when she spotted it had been left in a place too high for her to reach. Kate also noticed the window was wide opened and the shutters jammed up. It was because of these things that she had no doubt Madeleine had been kidnapped and she ran out to scream for help."
The Sunday Mirror has been told there was a window of opportunity of less than five minutes from the last time Gerry checked on their child to the reported sighting by family friend Jane of her being carried away by a man. Our source said: "Although there has been much speculation about a 'lost hour' in which Madeleine could have been taken, it was actually less than five minutes. The kidnapping must have been meticulously planned. Police found no fingerprints or DNA on the Cuddle Cat or in the room, indicating the intruder wore gloves.
There was so little time that whoever took Madeleine must have been watching the family closely for several days so they knew exactly when to strike.
"Kate and Gerry left Madeleine and the twins Sean and Amelie alone every evening of their week-long holiday to eat dinner 50 yards away and followed the same routine of checking on them. The kidnapper would have known this."
The patio doors at the back of the apartment were left unlocked so Kate and Gerry could check on the children easily. But police are unsure if the intruder used them to slip in or if the shutters to the front window were forced open from outside. Our source added: "Whichever way the kidnapper entered, they left by the window because it was left wide open and the shutters were forced up."
Sniffer dogs flown over to Portugal last week by British police were taken into the apartment and found specks of blood missed in an initial search.
The results of DNA tests are expected this week but detectives are convinced it does not belong to Madeleine because if it was fresh, it would have been spotted when they first scoured the apartment.
But that has not stopped the Portuguese media leading a hurtful smear campaign against Kate and Gerry which reached a new low with the suggestion Madeleine was killed inside the apartment and that Kate was somehow involved.
The spiteful rumours forced Kate and Gerry to insist they would not be bullied out of Portugal. But yesterday there were more cruel accusations as they marked 100 days since Madeleine disappeared.
Portuguese newspaper Sol alleged the toddler died in the apartment before her parents went to dinner. It says British sniffer dogs picked up traces of her corpse and signs she was moved.
An "unnamed specialist" told the newspaper: "For the dogs to detect a body, it would have to stay in place where it died for a minimum of two hours."
The report also alleged the McCanns' silver Renault Scenic hire car may have been used to get rid of Madeleine's body.
A McCann spokesman yesterday dismissed the allegations as "complete nonsense". “

Madeleine's favourite toy, her pink 'Cuddle Cat, was taken from her arms and placed beyond her reach by her kidnapper, according to new reports.
This important evidence could point to the fact that Madeleine was actually taken alive.
According to a report in the Sunday Mirror, Kate McCann knew instantly that Madeleine had been abducted when she saw that the toy had been moved from her sleeping daughter's arms and placed on a ledge way beyond the four-year-old's reach.
The paper quotes a police source as saying: "When Kate tucked Madeleine up in bed earlier in the evening she had the toy tightly in her arms as she did every night.
"So Kate was terrified when she spotted it had been left in a place too high for her to reach.
"Kate also noticed the window was wide open and the shutters jammed up.
"It was because of these things that she had no doubt Madeleine had been kidnapped and she ran out to scream for help."
There was no sign of DNA or fingerprints left on the toy.
This morning the couple went to the church in Praia da Luz for Sunday mass
They have defended themselves against accusations that their publicity campaign in the wake of Madeleine's disappearance has been counter-productive.
In a video specially recorded for a new section on the YouTube website to help find missing children, the couple spoke of their fears that their strenuous efforts to trace Madeleine might be counter-productive.
Mrs McCann said: "A few people have said to us, too much publicity might not be good because whoever's got her might keep her hidden.
"Obviously everything we're doing at the moment has a slight risk to it, which is a horrible situation to be in when you're dealing with your daughter.
"But overall we felt rather than sit back and not do anything this was the way to go."
Experts at the US National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children in Washington, DC, told Mr McCann that publicising Madeleine's image was the right thing to do, she said.
Mrs McCann added: "The laws in the States are very different to here, and well ahead of the game. "They've got their Amber Alert, so within two hours of a child getting taken a police report has to be filed. Obviously the response time in Europe has to be quicker."
Her husband said: "The problem is, and this applies to the child pornography laws as well, that if you make regulations tight in one country the perpetrators don't know any boundaries and they will move to a country where the legislation is less tight.
"So you might be exporting your problem. And that's why it has to have an international dimension. "And that's why the laws need to be tightened up, not just in the UK, the United States or anywhere else - it's where children can be abused or be likely to be abused."
The short film shows the couple printing out posters of Madeleine in their holiday apartment in Praia da Luz, then showing them to taxi drivers and members of the public.
They also hand out Find Madeleine wristbands and put up the posters in shop windows.
Filmed at the wheel of his car, Mr McCann said: "In terms of the abduction of a foreign child in another country, it's really very rare.
"The only case like this, certainly with British children, that we know of is Ben Needham, which was in 1991. That's 16 years ago.
"So that aspect is incredibly rare, and certainly when we're talking to people in Portugal and Spain, they're not aware of any other EU nationals having children abducted on the Iberian peninsula.
"When you think about the tens of millions of tourists that come to Spain and Portugal every year, this really was a bolt out of the blue.
"In terms of what's happened to us, I think also the circumstances of a child being abducted from the bedroom is pretty rare as well."
Mr Sousa's comments came just hours after Mr McCann spoke of how police had "encouraged" his and his wife's conviction that Madeleine could be located.
The huge effort the McCanns have poured into the Find Madeleine campaign - which has seen them travel all over Europe to publicise her disappearance - has been driven by their belief that she was alive, he said.
If the current police activity reveals new evidence that Madeleine has been seriously harmed, he and his wife should be the first to know, he added.
Mr McCann wrote on his internet blog: "We have always been told that the police had an open mind about Madeleine's abduction and that all scenarios were possible.
"In the first few days after Madeleine's disappearance it was so difficult for us not to imagine the worst case scenario - that she had been taken and murdered, particularly in light of the statistics on child abduction.
"However as the massive investigation and extensive search did not find any evidence of serious harm to Madeleine, we started to hope that she would be found alive.
"This belief has been encouraged by the police."
He went on: "Everything we have done... in the campaign to help find Madeleine has been driven by the fact that all our family and friends feel that there is a reasonable chance Madeleine is still alive.
"Kate and I, like all parents of missing children will always have that hope unless we see concrete evidence to the contrary.
"It is this hope that has sustained us along with the overwhelming support we have received from family, friends and well-wishers.
"As parents, we have always said we need to know what has happened to our daughter who has been such a massive part of our life.
"If the current police activity does uncover new evidence that Madeleine has been seriously harmed we should be the first to know."

Brian... or this one could have been used... look at this picture and compare the shadows and light areas to the little girl in the picture behind the car.
I sense someone is playing games with the public and using the media as a tool. This picture attached seems to "maybe" have been super-imposed in the background behind the car in the photo (dailymail news photo previously pictured on your site).
Look at the "light" areas around her face.... they match perfectly. Cross-reference the darker shaded areas for instance where her bangs on her forehead have shadows... the same. Even the white object in front of her face is evident... what is going on?

You have mention ‘6’ & ‘tennis court’ a lot, in DD5441, in another DD5527, RV 23/5/07 & again a ‘6’ in RV 25/5/07 & others I think.
I’ve just looked again at the website of Mark Warner Ocean Club Summer Beach Resort (MW OCSBR tel.nr. 770 4227) & notice on the resort map that ‘6’ is the key on the map to the ‘Mini & Toddler 2’s Club’ which Madeleine probably went to during the day, her being 3yrs old at the time & it’s located right near the tennis courts – see bottom of page on link http://www.markwarner.co.uk/sun/portugal/ocean-club#item3
You also mention in DD5527 ‘tell them about the S box’ (think EC tells you this). And the ‘S’ is mentioned again in DD5551 & other DDs I think. This has been puzzling me for months!!
Then lookikng again at the below drawing (no DD nr or date but was around mid July), says Sky Box 12. I quite thought that would be something to do with a Sky television digital box, but then I just thought this has something to do with the ‘S box’ mentioned before.

On DD5441, you write ‘she is with RS & WS’ & you have mentioned that they want to give Madeleine back.
On RV 10/5/07 you refer to RS as police, works for a hotel but perhaps has some links with the police & church/religion.
On your 2nd RV of 5/7/07 you say RS is the husband & WS you say is the wife that runs a child network. And that police are paid to cover up.
You then say again that RS & WS want to return child, but look…. you have put the date of ‘19/8/07, no media’. Let’s hope you are right Brian!!
Is your drawing above WS that perhaps works at the Mini & Toddler 2’s Club??? Perhaps this is the child network you refer to?

I feel so strongly with you Madeleine is alive, and when I read the dream of last night a feeling came over me like a knowing.
I called Portuguese Police in Praia da Lux and spoke to Lucus and gave the information to him, he said he would speak to his superior. I read exactly your entry dream 5849 DD and said they had already checked this location, but return because your dream reveals she is there.
I asked if MAIO meant anything to him,
HE SAID MAIO MEANS ...MAID...
Pray with me all those reading this, that Lucus of the PP Praia da Lux goes to this location.
I also emailed BBC, Mark Warner Ocean Club in Praia da Lux, and their UK booking for hotel, the host site for Madeleine Mccann, Crimestoppers in Leistetershire.
I will try now and call hotel directly.

That was a spooky crossing of emails last time - I still find it strange to think that people can communicate instantly via the internet yet be hundreds of miles apart!
Although perhaps not as strange as what you are able to do ;0)
I tried it many years ago but gave up after many unsuccessful attempts at trying to transfer my consiousness to a black dot on the ceiling which resulted in nothing more than eyestrain and a bad headache. Maybe I was trying too hard - your technique of total relaxation first sounds far more natural! (Please don't print any of this though!)
I found this report on the Madeleine investigation today:

Even doctors Gerry and Kate, both 39, from Rothley, Leics, have admitted they had finally been forced to face up to that nightmare thought.
Now newspaper Diario de Noticias has quoted a police source as saying: “We know what has happened to Madeleine but we do not know the reason why she died — whether it was an accident or murder. Nothing is being ruled out.”
Meanwhile it emerged that bungling cops named a man as a new suspect only because he had a baby seat in his hire car and knew friends of the McCanns.
Lawyer James Gorrod, 34, was on holiday with his wife Charlotte and son William, two. They live in Exeter, just two streets away from a couple in the McCann’s party.
James was interviewed by British police last week and told he had “nothing to worry about”. Yesterday Charlotte, 34, who has just given birth to the couple’s second child, said: “This is all absolutely ridiculous.”

If it's from the local police, this seems only to prove the point they are involved and are desperately trying to hide their tracks.
If the parents were not told this information by the police, and the article is true, then the police are planning on involving the parents in their story.
I really think they need to get out of there.

The Police are stating that they know for a fact that Madeleine is dead, and
has been since May 3rd. However, you keep stating she is alive. They also
say they know who the killer(s) are. So that means they should be making an
arrest very soon.
Lets say she definitely is alive, and they arrest, charge the accused and
the entire world believe Madeleine dead. What is going to happen to her?
Nobody will be looking for her, and she'll be stuck where she is. Have you
seen anything new in your dreams lately( is she still alive?). Also, up
until just recently the police stated numerous time that they were looking
for a live child( which is very rare) so why would they assume this? But all
of a sudden they say she died on May 3rd. Either way is looks grim- she
could be dead. Or she could be alive and presumed dead. I don't which is the
better option to be honest! Especially if everyone thinks she dead, no one
will be on the lookout for her, making it easier to transfer her.
Also if she is alive, and the police claim her dead, would you still be
willing to go to Portugal? Because if she is alive, you may be the only way
to her out of where she if. Unless of course she is dead.

Thanks and I'm glad to finally hear that they did not give any of the three children drugs that night...I'm also glad to hear that the blood was not Madeleine's, but I'm still certain that even if test results say it was not, local police including RM did plant Madeleine's blood in the hotel room...and only a couple of weeks ago. Maybe they test was in error or contaminated...suggest the test be done again. Again I want to warn the McCann's and friends to leave the country, regardless of what they hear from the police and media...I do not think it safe to stay there.

A Portugese asked Mr McCann this question and his reply was that "no, there was no way we gave her sedatives". However, as he answered that question he immediately touched his ear and looked downwards - a classic case of lying.

Brian, thanks for responding to my last e-mail. This case continues to puzzle me, everyday I continue to read more media speculation, and we can see the impact it is having on the mccanns. It is sad to see that they are dealing with the loss of their child, and then they have to explain themselves daily to the media. Today there was an article posted about a couple of robberies that happen at the resort 2 weeks prior to the mccanns staying there. Victims from these robberies are going to be interviewed this coming week, does that sound ridiculous, it has taken the port pj over 15 weeks to interview these people. Two individuals description of the offender are similar to the description of the creep who was seen carrying a child. I will attach the article to this. Do you think there is a connection. Perhaps he was trying to rob the place and madeleine walked in or woke up, I don't know anymore. Also have you had any dreams about her, I still believe she is alive, and this is just a big dream. I really feel for this child, who has to be so traumatized. Take care and please let us know what you think.

I've been following your discussion on the case of Madeleine McCann. I am wondering, as the McCann's did not sedate their children, and assuming the person (or persons, which I think is the case here...one who was inside the room, and perhaps another 'keeping watch' outside of the room, or perhaps in or around the restaurant) had pre-planned or even watched the McCanns for a day or a few days prior to the night she was taken.....do you have any feelings on the possibility that the children were sedated by the abductor. I have actually read about this in a fictional book by Sidney Sheldon....where the person used ether in a gas form, which was odourless.
Would appreciate your thoughts.

If the McCann's had a valid reason for doing this, i.e. sleepwalking, then it might be possible...but what I know, they did not.
As far as someone else doing this, I do not think so.
I would suggest that RM's home be under constant monitoring...even web cams would work if we could get enough people to do it. I would be happy link the the cam from this page.

I have been following your website for weeks
I remember reading a post mentioning the mccanns room number and possible the number of the room directly above theirs were in a dream of yours (you did not know relevance of numbers). Turns out, detectives are evaluating the breakin of a suite above the mccanns 2 weeks prior to the abduction. The niece of the flat owner gave a description of the robber similar to the man seen carrying a child that evening. Also if interest was that it is thought the intruder had a key (points to site worker). This collaborates much of what you have said.

I have been looking at the pictures you drew on the above date, one shows a square with a number 6 inside and underneath you have drawn a curve, bit like a banana!
I think it means that "F" is the 6th letter of the alphabet.
and the curvey banana shape looks like the bottom left curve of the 'Fleur de Lys', which could also be interpreted as the southwest corner. Madeleine was in the South West of Portugal at the Beach of Light, Praia de Luz and then sighted at the petrol station at Sagres which is further to the South West.
Antonio Toscana was the man who said a known criminal "The Frenchman", was coming to Portugal and he expressed concern that this Frenchman was involved in Madeleine's disappearance. Though we have heard no more in the media of either of them.
Also, in your earlier drawing, same reference, you have written
"safe 3, 272, tennis court 6, 217 - road 125, madline faro, vilamura here, no pay or murder, check the mail, she is with VA, they wanted a child, 770 4227, McCanne Safe, OCSBR"
The number plate of the car in the Belgium Cafe sighting had the number plates of "VAV" I believe.
If we interpret the numbers as above, it reads:
"safe C, bgb, tennis court F, bag - road ABE, madline faro, vilamura here, no pay or murder, check the mail, she is with VA, they wanted a child, gg0dbbg, McCanne Safe, 15319218" The last words I converted to numbers which when added together total 3. which is the same ending as the beginning of your statement! If you join the beginning with the end and work inwards, it looks like 'they wanted a child" fits with "Tennis court 6/F" all photos of Madeleine playing tennis need to be checked out again, someone connected with tennis perhaps at the Resort? When the McCanns read all their mail they may find something major in there that is a clue.
Anyway, just the way I see it, thanks for this site and your work Brian, I've been quite frustrated with not having anywhere to send my thoughts/ideas about Madeleine.

Brian, first looked at your site a couple of weeks ago and am now a daily visitor, not actually convinced by it all but do believe that some do have powers others of us may not.
Just read you last posting on Madeleine where you say police planted her blood in the apartment a couple of weeks ago. Where did this blood come from was not aware that they had collected any other DNA evidence from Madeleine other than a hair found in her bed.
I hope and pray your RV's are correct and Madeleine is returned to her family soon.

EXCLUSIVE Brit detectives' verdict.. and flaws in inquiry

The Portuguese police hunting Madeleine McCann have been branded "Keystone Cops" by British officers shocked at their appalling blunders.
Detectives from Leicestershire are said to be horrified that clues which could have led to the tot's abductors have probably been lost forever.
The British cops, drafted in to review the three-month investigation, were stunned by the "incompetence, inaccuracy and crass inefficiency" they found.
A source close to the team said the officers had been "tearing their hair out in frustration and disbelief" at basic errors which have hindered the search for four-year-old Maddie.
He told The People: "The Portuguese investigation has been a total shambles. Our guys were left shaking their heads at every turn asking: 'Why the hell did they do that...why didn't they do this?' "They are shocked, disappointed and p***** off by what they've found because basic procedures were not followed.
"Local police appear to have been running around like the Keystone Cops without any proper co-ordination."
The source added: "Crucial clues may have been lost and valuable hours were wasted.
The McCanns' apartment was scrubbed out and occupied by new tenants only five weeks after Madeleine disappeared and the inquiry was supposedly still highly active. When our guys arrived after 13 weeks they had to go back to square one - except square one had been trampled over with size 11 boots."
The Portuguese investigators came under fire within hours of Maddie's disappearance in Praia da Luz on May 3 for failing to seal off the area, start house-to-house enquiries and alert border guards.
Officers leading the hunt have even been criticised by local journalists over their long lunches and apparently laid-back attitude.
Police chief Guilhermino Encarnacao, 59, was dubbed Inspector Clueless.
He has refused to comment in public about the case since the second day after Maddie vanished. When no progress was made in the inquiry after three months, detectives from the Judicial Police invited specialists from Leicestershire to fly out to review the case. Maddie's parents, doctors Gerry and Kate, are from Rothley in the county.
The British team included a forensics expert and a Crackerstyle criminal profiler.
Within days they found specks of blood on the walls and curtains of the holiday apartment where Maddie had been left sleeping.
The potentially-crucial evidence, missed by Portuguese police, has now been analysed in a British lab.
Preliminary findings show the blood is that of a white European man - most likely one of the holidaymakers who moved in weeks after Maddie vanished.
A full report is expected next week but experts say the blood sample is only 72 per cent accurate as it was contaminated with detergent used to clean the flat.
Despite the scientists' caution Portuguese police jumped the gun last weekend by announcing they had new clues and developments that pointed to Maddie being dead.
And police spokesman Olegario Sousa bragged: "Never has there been so much evidence collected in a crime scene by specialised teams.
"Every single detail is being examined very carefully. We spent four days in the past week or two inside the apartment."
But the British police source said: "When he says 'We' I think he means Portuguese officers led by British experts.
"And if there was still so much evidence to be had you have to ask what could have been found in the first 24 hours."
The shambles piles more anguish on Kate and Gerry McCann who - 108 days on - are still praying for their daughter's return.
And the only official suspect or "arguido" in the case, estate agent Robert Murat, is still in limbo waiting to be cleared. He is banned from discussing the case.
There was no lockdown
1 LOCAL police failed to "lock down" and seal off the Mark Warner Ocean Club resort immediately after Madeleine was reported missing at 10pm on May 3.
Her parents were certain that she had been snatched and told officers straight away.
But police, under "Inspector Clueless" Guilhermino Encarnacao, seemed convinced the tot had simply wandered off.
They did not set up roadblocks which just may have snared the abductors.
House to house
2 COPS' failure to accept they had an abduction on their hands meant they did not launch an immediate search of nearby holiday flats and villas or question locals.
House-to-house enquiries started two days later and most of the 500 properties were not visited until after any kidnapper had been given ample time to flee.
Borders
3 BORDER officials should have been told of Maddie's disappearance without delay. A kidnapper could have driven to the Spanish frontier from Praia da Luz in less than an hour. But police only alerted staff at the border 12 hours later.
Boat
4 COASTGUARDS and maritime police were not alerted for 14 hours. If cops thought Maddie had wandered off, a search of the nearby beach and sea should have been an obvious and vital move.
There is a also a marina less than 10 minutes' drive from the McCanns' flat, providing an escape route for an abductor. More than 10 boats left before maritime police were warned.
Description
5 THE first police appeal for a suspect did not come until 22 days after Maddie vanished.
Cops later said in Portuguese they were seeking a 170cms (5ft 7ins) man but muddled the conversion and said in English he was 5ft 10ins tall.
At one stage police were showing six different E-fit images to local people and one artist's impression was a simple outline said to be "like an egg with hair on."
Cuddle Cat 'clue'
6 MUM Kate McCann was convinced Maddie had not just wandered off because the tot's favourite soft toy Cuddle Cat was still in the room where she slept with twins Sean and Amelie, two.
Police did not take the toy for forensic tests even though an abductor may have touched it.
Kate was seen clutching it 24 hours later at a press conference and has since washed it as it was dirty and covered in suntan lotion.
British experts say Cuddle Cat should have been sealed in a plastic bag then tested.
The most minute drop of sweat or a single skin cell could have revealed the DNA of Madeleine's kidnapper.
Searches
7 A MASSIVE search party should have been organised by police at first light the morning after Maddie disappeared. Instead just 150 police took part in the first searches and they were poorly organised and random.
Holidaymakers
8 A FULL list of other guests at the Ocean Club resort ought to have been compiled by police with the help of staff within hours of the tot's disappearance.
But they did not get the information until almost 48 hours later - and a day AFTER many potential witnesses had returned home at the end of their holidays. Staff were only quizzed 60 hours later.
Appeal
9 A DIRECT appeal to the abductor is usually considered vital in the first hours of a kidnapping. Police seek advice from psychologists to carefully word any plea. But it was Madeleine's parents Gerry and Kate who made the public appeal themselves. There was not even a Portuguese police officer at the couple's press conference.
Stranger's DNA found
10 DETECTIVES revealed on June 1 that they had found the DNA of a stranger in the McCanns' apartment.
But they could not check if it was from a known paedophile as Portugal does not have a computerised DNA database of perverts.
The DNA did not match the profile of suspect Robert Murat.
Forensics
11 THE area immediately surrounding the McCanns' holiday apartment was never properly sealed off by police - even though vital clues are often discovered at such a scene.
People were allowed to walk on the flat's front porch 24 hours after Maddie disappeared. There were no fingertip searches and police sniffer dogs were not brought in until large crowds had gathered in the area, confusing any valuable scent. Mark Williams- Thomas, a highly experienced former British detective who travelled to the resort, called it "the worst preserved crime scene I have ever seen".
The original searches did not find the blood in Madeleine's bedroom and her parents' room.
Specialist sniffer dogs and ultra-violet lights were not used. Staggeringly, police gave the go-ahead for the flat to be occupied again although enquiries were continuing.
And by the time the British team checked the apartment it had already been thoroughly cleaned.
Pyjamas
12 DETAILS of the pyjamas Maddie was wearing should have been released straight away.
Anyone who saw her would probably have recalled the distinctive pink Eeyore nightwear.
But officers repeatedly refused to issue a description and it was left to her parents to give details an astonishing four days later.
CCTV
13 IMAGES from CCTV cameras on the main A22 motorway leading out of Praia da Luz towards Spain were not checked.
Robert Murat
14 SUSPECT Robert Murat's home was raided by police who seized his computers.
When they found names and four-digit numbers on a spreadsheet they were convinced they had unearthed "encrypted codes for a paedophile ring."
But the list was simply a family tree giving the names and birth dates of the estate agent's relatives.
Portuguese police bungled their search of Murat's garden.
They did not clear bushes and shrubs - British officers later ordered gardeners to hack away the undergrowth.
They then made a thorough search and inserted probes into the ground to seek any trace of human remains.
Portuguese officers also searched a guest house run by Murat's aunt in nearby Burgao.
They hacked at the concrete-hard ground with picks until it dawned on them that the area had not been disturbed in years.
Baby seat
15 COPS last week said they were looking at a new suspect - a British man who returned a hire car to Faro airport two days after Maddie vanished.
The vehicle had a child seat in the back but no child. Car rental staff alerted police, whose interest was fired when they found the customers were James and Charlotte Gorrod - who had been on holiday in Praia da Luz and knew friends of the McCanns.
But the innocent couple were never questioned. The hire firm had failed to notice the Gorrods had their two-year-old son with them all along. But police leaked word of a "new lead" to Portuguese reporters.
Psychics
16 DETECTIVES wasted time following up tip-offs from psychics and cranks.
Two weeks after Maddie vanished a local medium claimed she had "zoned-in" on map co-ordinates pinpointing a well in which Maddie was being hidden. She said the little girl was still alive.
Cops threw a stone down the well to test the bizarre tip-off - without thinking of the injury to Maddie if she had been there.

I think it was the she is alive comment that made me consider Madeliene. Her parents are Catholic and have prayed at a little church in Praya da Luz almost daily. The interesting part though, when looking back through previous DD (Sorry I don't have the number) but is is quoted below:

Sorry for my English as I was educated learning portuguese . Later I studied the same stuff K and J did (a lot of work with a lot of stress) . So I understood the need for relaxing and holidays and free time. They had a terrible bad luck with her daughter . I am married and have 3 child (2 liv with me) . When MM vanished may daughter was 3 y.o.( and 6 months ) . At this point is there someone that do not understand the motifs that made me involve with this case.. ?. For weeks I was deeply commited with getting this child out of this mess ....5 to 6 hours a day I spent collecting info using state of art EVP techniques about her whereabouts . Everything was recorded ..This precious time was needed to family care and professional update . Misleading information was provided at the begining (Let it go .. she has been already found etc..) But this did not agree with daily news . Malicious spirit information was provided and I had to change everything. I turned to safest place where I could not be deceived . The local church. From the first day real info was then finaly provided . This info , maybe not devoid of interpretation error was then sent to PP . That info had not enough accuracy so that PP could sucessfully find MM but even so quite a lot of details were provided. Quite a lot of information was sent to PP part of that sent privately to Rev and Ruth . Strong need of info turned into stressfull messages with everybody attacking and offending each other. This keeps people away from the forum and help to MM case detracts from that . I myself was pointed as the kidnaper... (I thought "how come .. these people are really psychics???) . Anyway I can testify that Rev is very talented (or someone he knows) as he guessed something about me (first mail he sento to me) that he could never possible know ! I used the same methodology to colect info about the place previous refered several times . Several readings were done this time with interaction , something very difficult . Correct interpretation of words spoken is the main difficulty even when the words are repeated on different tape recordings . This place (sea) was again referred later several times. In order to assure accuracy I used a new methodology so that I can be sure that entity providing information is really connected with me .Specific question was asked , specific answer was received .This was repeated and the second time spirit did not liked it and said " it's not time to play the under cover it's time to do this work" . (This ended interaction) Even so misleading info is not out of question . It is possible. Error is part of frequently very important and usefull material/data . So if the goal is helping each other I ask you all .. please do not criticise the product of this kind of work as this is sensible to error. Error has to do with entity providing info but also with interpretation of spoken words. So let's see what was spoken and recorded .
Never , not even once , did the names of J and K were spoken neither did the words parents father mother or RM over almost two hundred recordings.
To me J and K are just those suffering an ordeal that no one can really feel unless really living with the same problem on their lives .
A finger of the child was hurt (detail : right hand) and an injury was the source of the blood .
The child was carried inside a box.
Finger was hurt when the child was forced inside the box.
The child left the room alive. No doubt about that
It was said that the man on the boat did not even know her name
The kidnapper was a woman.
That woman delievered the child to the man on the boat. (straight from the hotel room)
This man did not waited for the woman as she went to look for something to desinfect and cover injury
The problem was that the child was crying loudly and it was dangerous returning to the beach
The woman wanted the child to herself and cryed with anger when she knew it was decieved and left alone on the beach
(a lot of details I will not post here because this can impress young people or even K and J as this is an open forum)
Later the same night this man returned to the beach and was looking for the woman but she was not there anymore.
So he left alone with the child.

Recent readings , done this time at Lagos show that place I provided and previously referred by Rev is not accurte. When asked for the distance from the beach words spoken could be three hundred or two hundred meters (even five hundred looked possible) . So I did 3 marks over the place (yellow , red and black /blue) and asked for the nearest point . Red was the answer . It means the place in question is inside a triangle where the south point is probably the most accurate. (north point 240m NW fom the original one . A lot of times spirit words referred to "currents from the ocean" . This point is 260 meters SW from the first one. A lot of trouble to do this correctly as even not spirit looks coherent
Cannot promise comming frequently as my life does not allows that.
Wish that we are wrong so that J nd K have her beautifull daughter back

Well about the guy of the boat:
The guy of the boat was once called "The old man" on the beach and even "the pedophile" . Spirit called him lazy and fat ,foreigner , speaking portuguese with a strange accent . Spirit said he was sick , right from the begining. Sickness had to do with heart problems. It was said that before the night of the kidnaping the women had been inside the boat for several times. (friend? girlfriend?) More : this guy did not waited for treatment. He did what he though was smarter , get the hell out of there , even letting down partner. It was the women that against the will of the men forced way out to get apropriate treatment (God knows what she was thinking of) . Injury was said beeing serious , not just a simple cut or something like that . This man was called "a killer" for several times. It was said that the woman did not know that...
About the woman:
Do not forget that she could not return to the beach as search for the child had began .She was in serious troubles of wareness mind , depression . Her possible name sent to PP . Was said looking for medical support with serious mind trouble . Was said getting support and protection from the local church!!! (Not necessarily with local rev ..)
About MM :
Spirit said that she passed night 31/5 to 1/6 resting on sea . The point referred may not be accurate : I would say a circle with a radius of about 200 meters centered on 38 22 48 N - 8 38 41 W but sprit not coherent and cannot say for sure.Southest point of circle most prob. Spirit said it was very difficult to recover as beeing on deepest part of the beach and not beeing visible. It's awful to say this but it was what spirit said a lot of times . Praying not to be truth...
now i dont know why- but i dont beleive the above- im not psychic or anything, maybe its i just dont WANT to beleive it... but it just dosent sound right to me??

I do hope its wrong. I cannot bear to think what that evil man did to her untill she passed on 30th may.. CRUELTY as she put it??!!! i feel so sick to even think it.

Why are all my missing person cases public?
The reason for making all my missing person cases public is simple...there is no possible way I can investigate these myself. I add at least one new case a day, 7 days a week with no vacations...this leaves little free time to do individual case work. Making everything public far outweighs working in secrecy...what you get is what I dreamt, nothing more or nothing less. When I post my dream drawing on a case, I usually post a translation too...this translation includes everything I know about the case, nothing is kept from you the reader. As with most people, I do not remember a majority of my dreams, and going back to specific dd's (dream drawings) does not usually bring back anything additional I have not already posted. I am not a psychic and can only work via dreaming or lucid dreaming, so with each request, I literally have to 'sleep on it'. I am not concerned about my dreams not being right, however I am concerned about letting those who can make a difference in solving a case, do so. I have been doing this for several years now, and will continue to do it in a way I know works. I have never charged to open a case, and have no plans on doing so in the future...all work, including work from those helping me is done 100% pro bono. When corresponding about a specific case via email, please assume it will be made public...as always I will try my best to remove personal information of the sender...but mistakes do happen.
