Did a quick search today with no results, it started to snow pretty hard.

Going to see if I can get my neighbors involved this weekend for a proper search.

Myself and Brett went out to search today, these are some photos of the area's searched.

Gale assisted us by phone and we seem to all agree that we were close....will go back out tomorrow.

Brett and I went out again today, we did find an area of interest (birds were circling from above), it turned out to be a dead fox.  Did not have a shovel, but will go out tomorrow and burry the animal properly.

A person I was suppose to go search with told me about this news report, I should have listened to him as I think he was correct.

I'm very sorry I did not, and I saddened that someone's life was lost without need...no matter who it turns out to be.

Man’s decomposed body found at county line - by David Abner - 4/29/2009

A body found Saturday morning near the Morgan/Berkeley County line had not been positively identified when The Morgan Messenger went to press yesterday.

Police said the badly decomposed body was discovered by a person hunting for mushrooms on April 25. The remains appeared to be those of a white male wearing a tan shirt, blue jeans and white tennis shoes.

The body was located off Shanghai Road in the Sleepy Creek Hunting & Fishing Area, near one of the hunting access trails, according to West Virginia State Police.

Lieutenant Ron Gardner and Deputy Scott Myers of the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department were first to arrive and secured the crime scene. Because the body was near the county line, they notified Morgan County 911 Dispatch.

Springs Detachment of the West Virginia State Police was dispatched around 9:30 a.m. and went to the scene with Corporal A.T. Peer.

Peer said the body was found approximately two miles north of Shanghai Road and one

and one half miles from Winchester Grade Road.

The body had been dragged by a predator, probably a bear, 60 to 80 feet across the Berkeley County line into Morgan County, Peer said.

The State Police Crime Scene Response Team investigated the crime scene and then transported the body to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Charleston.

An autopsy to determine the identity of the body and cause of death is being conducted. Peer said Monday night the body had not yet been positively identified.

Missing man?

One possibility is that the body is that of Stephen John Tamburo, Jr., 62, of Shanghai Road in Sleepy Creek. He was reported missing by relatives on December 24 and was last seen December 6.

“We are investigating and there is a possibility it is Tamburo. We have no other reports of missing persons in the area,” Peer said.

The medical examiner asked Peer to track down Tamburo’s X-rays or dental records to help identify the remains.

Tamburo’s son, also named Stephen John Tamburo, is missing and is being sought as

a person of interest in his father’s disappearance. He is also wanted on prescription fraud charges.

Police were reluctant to say conclusively that the death was caused by foul play.

“The means of death have not been determined,” Davis said.
