GREENWICH -- A Texas search group that specializes in finding missing people has joined the effort to find Jaliek Rainwalker.
Texas EquuSearch, which takes its name from its use of horses during search efforts, has agreed to assist police as they try to find the missing 12-year-old boy from Greenwich.
Cambridge-Greenwich Police Chief George Bell said Jaliek's maternal grandmother, Barbara Reeley, of Rensselaer County, contacted Texas EquuSearch.
Bell said the group's founder, Tim Miller, plans to visit Greenwich in the coming days to meet with police to formulate a plan to help look for Jaliek.
"They have a lot of resources available to help with this sort of thing," Bell said.
Cindy Wisdom, case manager for the nonprofit organization, said the group planned to bring its personnel and equipment to Washington County this spring if needed.
Texas EquuSearch uses searchers on horseback and four-wheelers, as well as technology like sonar and ground-penetrating radar, all at no cost to local officials.
"You name it, we have it, or can get our hands on it," Wisdom said.
The organization has been involved in a number of recent high-profile searches, including the ongoing effort to find missing teenager Natalie Holloway in and around Aruba.
Information about Jaliek has already been posted on the group's Web site, www.texasequusearch.org.
Miller founded the group after his daughter was abducted and murdered in Texas in 1984.
Jaliek has been missing since Nov. 2, when his adoptive father, Stephen Kerr, reported him missing from the Hill Street, Greenwich, home where the two had spent the previous night.
The boy had spent the previous several nights in respite care after trouble at the family's East Greenwich home involving threats he made.
Police have identified Kerr as a "person of interest" and said he has refused to take lie-detector tests and fully cooperate with police.
Kerr has said he did not harm the boy. He and his wife, Jocelyn McDonald, have said they believe Jaliek ran away from the area to a city, and they have accused police of treating them unfairly and focusing only on the possibility the boy is dead.
Meanwhile, police are awaiting the results of forensics tests of items seized by officers Feb. 7 from the Hill Street home.
Among the items was a computer. Police are trying to determine if it was used to write anonymous letters that were sent last month to media around the region claiming Jaliek was alive.
Bell said he could not discuss the status of the evidence taken from the home.
Not much, but I think I found the Amtrak Station, if they have a CCTV record that far back, it might be worth looking into.
I checked on Google and I believe this is the Amtrak station, and it's by a river per first DD. I might be planning a trip to this location as well as Vermont, if this is ok with you.

By now I’m sure you have rec’d my first letter in the “snail” mail regarding the case of missing 12 year old Jaliek Rainwalker. I saw that you have added to his site just today, and that you are asking someone if it’s ok for you to make a visit out here. I don’t know for certain who you are asking, but you may want to ask Barbara Reeley from the www.findjaliek.org task force. I am sending you this second letter for you to read and see if any of it helps. I have added and changed a few things since my last letter to you. Could you please read through this and see? Also, for several reasons, please keep me anonymous…I would appreciate it if you did not post or give out any of my info, including my email address. Thank you in advance for being understanding of that! OK…here’s my thoughts:
Pic. 1 “Trash Bag 622" From what I can tell, the Amtrak station in Ft. Edward is near a garbage disposal company, I believe it’s Waste Management, but am not 100 % sure. I don’t know if the dumpsters have been checked or if they # their dumpsters?
There is also an Altamont/Schenectady Amtrak station and the Albany/Rensellaer station close by to the area.
622 could also be several other things...time of train, train #, route #, dumpster #, etc. It could ALSO be Jaliek’s birthday! You had a dream listed under last nights dreams dated 3/11/08 and not specific for Jaliek, but it had some #’s circled on it and said “Use your birthday” and also had a “J” underlined on it. Two of the #’s listed were 6 and 22 (!). If you add the first two #’s you get 8 (Aug.) And that leaves the 3rd # which is 2. Jaliek was born on 8/2 according to your website! Maybe this means something??? There was also the # 13 listed, and Jaliek will turn 13 on Aug. 2nd ! ???.
Pic. 2 The circled items at the top...are those 2 sets of railroad tracks? Both Albany/Rensellaer and Ft. Edward Amtrak stations have tracks that run next to another set of tracks at points. OR...my first thought had been...could it be the Twin Bridges in Troy? I think more likely train tracks. The bottom looks like a covered platform area like you would find at a train station.
“David 39"...could be biblical. David wrote the Psalms. OR if you google 39 David Ave. in Troy you’ll see that it runs parallel to Winter St. Ext. and the name that Brian had thought might be David Winter (So David Ave and Winter Street!) Maybe those two streets running parallel could mean something significant. There isn’t a building that shows up on the map for “39" David Ave, but maybe it’s just an empty lot or area. There is a David Winter listed in the white pages that lives in Schenectady.
“Rt. 4 So. Amtrak station by river” there is an Amtrak in Albany/Rensellaer and Ft. Edward, both are near Rt. 4, both near a river. I’m assuming the Amtrak stations have been contacted early in this case to see if Jaliek had gotten on a train at any time, and that the answer was no. He could have been near the station though. I would also assume they would have cameras in the stations. So most likely he did not actually get ON a train or bus, but again, could have been NEAR there. You mentioned today CCTV???
Pic. 3 The man...is he standing under a bridge? Cross tattoo...don’t know if anyone connected to Jaliek has one in that same spot?
Next pic. Jason Heights...could this be referencing both a person and a place here at the same time? Maybe there is someone named Jason in the homeschooling group that Jaliek was a part of? Or is there any other Jason connected in any way to Jaliek? Could it be “Jackson Heights”? That is in Queens Co., isn’t that close to Westchester where the letter about Jaliek was mailed from? I’m not sure how close they are.
Next pic...again could David Winter be street names, not a person’s name? Cross tattoo??
Page with map on it...your request...Swimming pool near any of the local Amtrak stations or bus stations...each of the 3 stations (Altamont/Schenectady, Albany/Rensellaer, and Ft. Edward) have pools nearby but I don’t know just how close. I’ve been told that the Ft. Edward station has a pool about 5 minutes driving time from the station. I don’t know much about the bus stations.

Hi, thanks got your letter today and will do as you wish. You're correct about the request, although I did not think that part was public at the time.
Let me look this over and I will get back with you, I do not know if this train station was ever contacted, nor do I know if they have CCTV archives.

Drove by the Ft. Edward Amtrak station last night…it’s a VERY small station, and IS right next to the garbage disposal co. Waste Management. I don’t think many trains go out of there. Don’t know if they have CCTV there.
Still not sure of the Trashbag 622 part of your dream. In your 2nd picture, with what looks like either twin bridges or railroad tracks, also looks like the garages at the garbage co.(?). Could those be garage doors? There are lots of bridges in the area. The canal is nearby too, and soon they will be opening up the canals. I don’t know if they have checked the canals.
In your last picture, any #’s on the power pole? Do you know what is to the left of the pole? Any idea if the blue car was moving and if so, was it moving toward the swimming pool? The nearest PUBLIC pool isn’t that close, but not so far either. It’s the Hudson Falls & Kingsbury Town Pool. That’s about all we got from the Ft. Edward station.
