Madeleine's parents 'not suspects'

British police and child protection officers do not suspect Madeleine McCann's parents of involvement in her disappearance, the couple's spokesman has said.
Clarence Mitchell said officials had assured him in private briefings that they were treating the case as one of "rare stranger abduction".
He was speaking as he launched an outspoken attack on the "appalling" standards of some media coverage of the disappearance of the Kate and Gerry McCann's daughter in Portugal in May.
Mr Mitchell, who acted as the couple's spokesman shortly after Madeleine went missing and reprised this role four-and-a-half months ago, said he was completely convinced of their innocence.
He told a packed theatre: "I have never once seen or heard anything from either of them to give me any cause for suspicion in any shape or form.
"I have also had briefings privately from the police and the Child Exploitation and Online Protection (CEOP) centre that also gave me complete reassurance that the authorities, in this country certainly, are treating this as a case of rare stranger abduction, as they call it."
But Mr Mitchell said he felt "shamed" as a former reporter by the "sloppiness" and "laziness" of certain journalists in covering the story.
Speaking at a debate on The McCanns and the Media at the London School of Economics, Mr Mitchell said: "What we have taken issue with, and our lawyers continue to review, is the aspect of coverage that is not only distorted but wilfully misrepresentative at times of the facts as we know them or the lack of facts. In that vacuum I'm afraid some very sloppy standards have crept in."
He singled out "the sloppiness and laziness of some of the journalists, and the lack of independence of thought and checking of facts".
Mr Mitchell said he understood putting a story about Madeleine's disappearance on the front page could add 70,000 sales to some newspapers, meaning there was "definitely a commercial imperative" to reporting on the case. He assured the audience they could be certain that "every single one" of the negative stories they read or heard about the McCanns was untrue.

Robert Murat, a suspect in the disappearance of four-year-old Madeleine McCann, adored his own daughter and desperately missed her after his marriage broke down.
The former car salesman “lost” her when his wife, Dawn, returned to her native Norfolk with their daughter four months after the family had emigrated to Portugal because she was homesick and he stayed behind.
Mr Murat, 33, whose father is Portuguese, carried on as a self-employed property consultant on the Algarve, but visited the child regularly.

”But Dawn was unhappy in Portugal and became homesick,” Mr Bailey said. “She is a Norfolk girl and her family are in Norfolk.
”She only stayed with Rob for three or four months before she decided to come home with [their daughter]. He had already got a life out there, so he decided to stay. At first, he kept his relationship with Dawn and kept flying back to the UK to spend time with her and her daughter.
”He was going backwards and forwards between Portugal and here all the time, often only staying a couple of days before going back there. In the end, their relationship just fizzled out.”
Friends today described Mr Murat's daughter, four, who is also blonde, as “his life”.
Mr Bailey, who last saw his friend two months ago, added: “He is a laidback guy who loves the wonderful weather and the relaxed lifestyle out there.
”But he was upset about being away from his daughter. She is his first child and she means a lot to him. When she was born, it was the best thing ever for him. I know he stays in contact with [her] and telephones her all the time from Portugal. She is his world and he loves her to bits.”
Mr Murat has recently been in Britain visiting his former wife, Dawn, and their daughter in Hockering, Norfolk. Mrs Murat last night refused to comment at the home that she used to share with him. At about 10pm she was taken from the house by police in an unmarked car. It is believed that she was with her daughter.
Geoffrey Livock, 71, who lives in Hockering, said Mr Murat’s daughter looks extremely similar to Madeleine: “At first glance if you saw them walking down the street you would think they were twins. Their hair is about the same and their faces are similar. I didn’t think anything about it when Madeleine went missing. It was only when all this came out that I realised they were so similar.”

Cops 'Too Hasty' Over Madeleine's Parents

Portugal's top policeman has said detectives were "hasty" in making Madeleine McCann's parents suspects in her disappearance.
Kate and Gerry McCann were named as 'arguidos' - or formal suspects - four months after their daughter vanished from their holiday flat in the Algarve resort of Praia da Luz.
Alipio Ribeiro, national director of the Policia Judiciaria (PJ), revealed he believes there "perhaps should have been another assessment" before this happened.
The PJ - Portugal's CID - is leading the investigation into what happened to four-year-old Madeleine on the night of May 3.
In an interview with Portugal's Radio Renascenca, to be broadcast on Sunday, Mr Ribeiro said there was a "certain hastiness" in making the McCanns suspects.
The couple's spokesman Clarence Mitchell welcomed the senior officer's comments and called for the couple to be formally cleared.
He said: "Now that the national director of the Policia Judiciaria apparently accepts that they should not have been made arguido, it follows that there is no case for Kate and Gerry to answer."
Mr Mitchell said the couple's arguido status not only damages "their reputation in the eyes of the world" but "is also directly hampering the search for Madeleine".
"Many people who may have vital information have possibly not been coming forward because they have wrongly suspected the McCanns," the spokesman said.
"If the Portuguese police, under Mr Ribeiro, now do the only proper thing by eliminating Kate and Gerry from their inquiry, they and our own investigators can work together rapidly and effectively to find Madeleine and to bring those responsible for her abduction to justice."
Mr Ribeiro has previously expressed caution about the case.
On September 10 - just three days after Mr and Mrs McCann were named suspects - he suggested that forensic tests had not been conclusive.

Divers search lake for Madeleine McCann
Marcos Aragao Correia is thought to be spending more than £1,000 a day to keep up the dive hunt at the Barragem do Arade reservoir, 35 miles east of Praia da Luz where the four-year-old went missing on May 3 last year. Five days into the search, the divers - of the local firm Dive Time - have already found a 15-ft length of blind cord knotted together from several pieces. "It is now with the police," Mr Aragao said. "I think it could turn out to be significant."
The human rights lawyer said underworld criminals told him Madeleine was raped, murdered and then dumped in a nearby lake that was "deserted with lots of trees and a beach area". The Barragem do Arade, which is the second closest to Praia da Luz after another reservoir which police have already searched, was the only one that fitted the description, Mr Aragao said.
He claimed to have told Portuguese police of his tip-off three days after Madeleine disappeared. "So far they haven't acted upon my information," he said. "I'm determined to carry on with this until I find Madeleine's body or satisfy myself she is not here." But he added that Metodo 3, the private investogators hired by Madeleine's parents, thought his information was "important" because of the reservoir's proximity to the town of Silves, where a girl like Madeleine age was seen being swapped between cars.
The dive search comes as it emerged that Kate and Gerry McCann are set to remain suspects in their daughter's disappearance despite an admission by Portugal's top policeman that detectives were "hasty" in naming them as such.
Alipio Ribeiro, the national director of the Policia Judiciaria (PJ), told a radio interviewer at the weekend that there "perhaps should have been another assessment" before the McCanns were declared "arguidos" - formal suspects - four months after Madeleine vanished.
His remarks were sezied upon by Clarence Mitchell, the McCanns' official spokesman, who almost immediately issued a statement urging Portuguese authorities "to act humanely by removing their arguido status as swiftly as possible".
However, an unnamed source at Portugal's Attorney General's Office told the newspaper 24 Horas: "We will be saying nothing officially about Mr Ribeiro's comments. The fate of Madeleine's parents will be reassessed at the appropriate moment."
Although Portugal's Public Prosecution Service have the power to remove someone's arguido status before the end of a criminal investigation, it rarely happens. The McCanns are likely to have to wait until the end of the police investigation to find out whether they will stand trial.

UPDATE 2.5.2008: There is a possibility that searchers at this reservoir will locate a shred of clothing supposedly belonging to Madeleine...if this happens, I urge UK detectives to analyze what was found very closely, as it may be not be real.

Hi, not at all...if the rope that they found was burned on each of the ends specifically the way the DD states, then it could be related.
I believe this particular DD is related to the doll/swimming dream I had a few months ago...same felt emotions...when I find it, I will link them together.
I certainly hope this DD is not related...as I still believe Madeleine is alive, and will continue too until I find out otherwise.

POLICE searching for a missing seven-year-old boy in Spain are linking it with the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.
Jeremy Vargas vanished from his home in Gran Canaria just eight weeks before four-year-old Madeleine went missing in Praia da Luz.
Detectives hunting for the boy have told his parents they are now working closely with cops in Portugal.
The development adds weight to Kate and Gerry McCanns' insistence that their daughter was abducted - and that they were not responsible.
The link between the cases was revealed as dive teams searched a murky reservoir for Madeleine's body.
Jeremy's mother Ithaisa Suarez, 24, told yesterday of the striking similarities between the two cases - and her belief that both children may still be alive.
She said: "The specialist police team from Madrid have told me that they have been in contact with the Portuguese police investigating Madeleine. They are working on the theory that people involved in child trafficking are behind these cases."
Jeremy was playing on wasteground behind his home when he disappeared on March 10 last year.
Ithaisa insists both Jeremy and Madeleine, four, were snatched to order and likely sold on by a ruthless gang.
She was the first mother in similar anguished circumstances to write to the McCanns, both 39, when Madeleine disappeared last May. The two griefstricken families exchanged a series of letters.
Ithaisa wants to meet Kate and Gerry, as well as the parents of missing Mari Luz Cortes from Huelva, Spain, to present a united front in drawing international attention to their plight.
She said: "We need to stick together and make sure people understand we have not given up on our children being found."
Clarence Mitchell, the McCann family spokesman, said: "We are very grateful to the Vargas family for their continued support.
"Kate and Gerry have Jeremy in their thoughts an awful lot of the time."
Yesterday, divers continued to search a reservoir for Madeleine's body following a tip-off from an underworld source to a lawyer.
The search at Barragem do Arade - 40 miles from Praia da Luz - is being funded by Marcos Correia, who claims he was told she was murdered and thrown into a lake last May.
Correia, who would not reveal his source, said: "I am convinced this is the place."
Really not sure what to think anymore, but will never stop praying for her safe return, and all the other inocent children that get taken!

I also want to stress that this rope was burned on the ends, and even if it this dream is correct it does not necessarily mean Madeleine is not alive. In fact, I still believe she is alive and in PDL...another DD from last night seems to confirm this. I realize that I could be seeing the same date over and over, but I do not think so.

Divers are searching an isolated reservoir in Portugal for missing British toddler Madeleine McCann after a lawyer received a tip her body may have been dumped there, the London Daily Mail reported Monday.
Lawyer Marcos Aragao Correia is funding the nearly $2,400-a-day search of the man-made Barragem do Arade reservoir after underworld contacts told him that's where the body of the missing girl could be found, the paper said.
McCann disappeared a few days before her 4th birthday on May 3, 2007, during a family vacation in Praia da Luz, Portugal.
Correia said contacts told him that the girl was raped, murdered and her body dumped within 48 hours of her disappearance, the Daily Mail reported.
The lawyer said he believed she was killed, weighted down and thrown from a pumping tower into the reservoir, the paper said.
"I am convinced this is the place. It's not overlooked, it has easy access by car and if you threw the body from the tower the water is 55-feet deep there," Correia told the Daily Mail. "The divers have already found a cord tied in knots down there, right below the tower. I have given it to the police."
Six divers found an approximately 5-yard-long piece of nylon cord in their search, the Daily Mail reported.
"It's logic that if you throw a body into the water then you would tie it to something to weigh it down," Correia said.
The news comes as a senior police official said over the weekend that Portuguese investigators acted hastily in naming McCann's parents as suspects in her disappearance.
"There was a certain haste" in naming Kate and Gerry McCann as formal suspects in the case, Alipio Ribeiro, head of the Portuguese police's detective branch, told Radio Renascenca on Sunday.
"Perhaps there should have been a different evaluation. I have no doubt about this," Ribeiro said.
Madeleine's parents, who have run an international campaign to find their daughter, returned to Britain in September, a day after they were named as formal suspects in the case.
Forensic tests conducted at a government laboratory in Britain found evidence that DNA from Madeleine was in the trunk of a rental car the parents used after her disappearance.
But Portuguese police said the tests on the car were not conclusive and that investigations continued. No one has been charged.
The inquiry initially focused on the possibility that Madeleine had been abducted from her hotel room at a resort while her parents were dining at a nearby restaurant.

Since last Thursday, according to Correio da Manha, Aragon Correia has had a team of divers searching the lake. The report states that there are five divers from a company based in Lagos. The lawyer insists that the dam is the most likely place where Madeleine's body will be found. The team found a strange rope apparently, about 5 metres long and made up of belts and other items tied together. This was found under a bridge at a depth of about 7 metres. (The lake is 61m at its deepest point.)

Found this last night, but could not send to you, had puter gremlins! At this point , i would hope that someone somewhere would start looking seriously at the abduction theory.The PJ have given up all hope of solving this case by he sounds of it,its time that the experts were called in now, albeit a bit late in the day, but at least they could start looking in another direction, other than the "Parents" killed her. I have to believe she is still alive, and possibly Madeleines dissapearance is linked to other's too.As you have stated.

Hopefully this will happen soon, and Madeline is found safe. I don't think the PJ ever had hope in the first place, and believe that some of them know where Madeleine is. Madeleine's parents had nothing to do with their daughters disappearance, I think most of us have know this since day one.
I will not be able to reply too many emails now, and I hope what's posted on these 24 pages provides some help in locating Madeleine. SCOTLAND Yard is being urged to investigate the disappearance of Madeleine McCann as the flawed Portuguese police inquiry appears doomed to failure.
Retired Chief Superintendent Dai Davies, former head of the Yard’s Royal Protection unit, says that if the Yard can send detectives to probe the assassination of Benazir Bhutto in Pakistan, then they should also fly to Portugal to try and solve the Madeleine mystery.
Mr Davies says the Yard’s elite kidnap and ransom squad should open a Madeleine file because of their knowledge and experience in handling seemingly unsolvable crimes.
He said: “The Portuguese investigation has quite simply not solved the crime and it is now looking increasingly likely that it will be shelved.
“I would suggest that this is the time to call on the Yard to take the lead and to get them to form a team of detectives to work on the case. They would obviously have to spend time in Portugal, assessing the known evidence, looking at potential suspects and reinterviewing when necessary.”
Now a respected expert in security and protection for rich clients around the world, Mr Davies has travelled to Praia da Luz and closely studied the lay out of the Mark Warner complex and the entry points to the McCanns’ holiday apartment from where Madeleine disappeared shortly before her fourth birthday on May 3 last year.
He concluded that her parents, Kate and Gerry McCann, both 39, were not involved in her disappearance. And he says there is a strong possibility that Madeleine was abducted for a purpose, probably to be sexually abused, and was later killed.
Mr Davies said Yard officers would bring a clear strategy to the investigation. He said: “The officers on the kidnap squad deal with hundreds of abductions a year, the vast majority of which are dealt with satisfactorily and competently. They work quietly and diligently to get results by following tried and tested strategies which work and deliver solutions.
“They are expert at conducting extremely thorough and searching interviews of witnesses and it is by those skillful examinations of testimonies that you arrive at the truth.
“In my experience, having worked on missing people cases abroad, so much is lost in translation because of language barriers. Highly experienced police officers are aware of this and are trained to be aware of the pitfalls.”
Mr Davies has drawn up a document for the McCanns based on how he believes the investigation should now be conducted. The couple, who live in Rothley, Leicestershire, were initially offered the support of two liaison officers from their local police force who flew out to Portugal in the early part of the inquiry.
But Leicestershire detectives also assisted Portuguese officers in their investigations into the McCanns.
Mr Davies said: “I am rather concerned about this because you have a force initially offering support to the McCanns and then apparently working with the Portuguese detectives investigating them. You can’t do it both ways. I think we need a clear statement from Leicestershire about what exactly they are doing now.”
Meanwhile it has emerged that the McCanns’ status as official suspects will be lifted unless they make “screaming contradictions” in forthcoming police interviews. A review of the case by homicide experts from the Portuguese Judicial Police has turned up no proof against them, according to reports yesterday.
Attorney General Fernando Pinto Montiero said: “The couple’s legal status will be considered at the appropriate moment, depending on various elements still to be obtained.”
Speaking to the Sunday Express at the country’s main Judicial Police headquarters in Lisbon, a spokeswoman for the detective leading the case, Alipio Ribeiro, confirmed he had been given orders to continue his investigations but that he was aware that the public prosecutor in Portimao could soon close the case.
She said: “Ultimately the decision will be made above Mr Ribeiro. It is for the senior judge in the Algarve to review the case and decide how to proceed. No decision has been made yet and we will continue as normal and try to solve what happened to Madeleine McCann.”
About 200 British people – tourists and expatriates – die in suspicious circumstance overseas each year.
Later this year, Home Secretary Jacqui Smith will review a proposal by senior police officers for an international “flying squad” of senior officers who would investigate murders and disappearances of Britons abroad.
A police source said such tragic events “could best be served by setting up a dedicated unit or an agency, with officers seconded from forces around the country”.

Emma Thompson: Rise in Human Trafficking
Human trafficking is on the rise, but making sure girls receive birth certificates can make it more difficult for them to fall victim to the crime, Emma Thompson said Tuesday.
"It's increasing big, big, big time _ it's the third largest shadow economy after drugs and small arms," the 48-year-old actress-screenwriter told reporters.
A United Nations human trafficking forum begins Wednesday. Thompson is the chair of the Helen Bamber Foundation, a Britain-based group that helps rebuild the lives of victims of cruelty.
She warned it was much easier to buy and sell people _ especially women _ who do not have birth certificates.
"In many, many countries in the world, girls simply aren't registered and they get lost and they get sold and they get used _ and I know that because I've spoken to lots of them in lots of different countries," Thompson said.
She said human trafficking had increased exponentially over the past decade and that traffickers were fantastically sophisticated.
Sometimes traffickers are neighbors, uncles, brothers _ even fiances and often other women who have families and daughters of their own, Thompson said.
"All the stories are different _ but mostly they involve trust and the breaking of someone's trust," said Thompson, who won a screenwriting Oscar for "Sense and Sensibility" and a best actress Oscar for "Howards End."
The U.N. gathering expects to draw more than a thousand experts, legislators, law enforcement teams, business leaders, non-governmental organizations and trafficking victims from more than 100 countries.

A SUSPECTED pervert who fled the resort where Maddie McCann vanished is taking photos of Britney Spears in LA, The Sun can reveal.
Christian Ridout, 32, is wanted for questioning in Praia da Luz, Portugal, for allegedly trying to groom a 12-year-old girl.
But for several months Ridout has used the name Dexter Troy to work as a paparazzo in Hollywood, where he has trailed the likes of Britney, David Beckham and Kiefer Sutherland.
We found the ex-DJ there after a tip from a fellow snapper.
Ridout, known as DJ Shifty, was alleged to have sent obscene texts to the girl about two years ago.
Her mother — who worked with Ridout in the Plough and Harrow bar, 200 yards from the flat where Maddie vanished on May 3 — said of whoever sent the texts: “The messages were absolutely vile. The texts talked about her being a virgin, telling her he’d done ‘it’ before, he’d be gentle and it wouldn’t hurt.”
After she put the allegations to Ridout, he left for Spain that night.
He said yesterday: “These allegations are ridiculous. At the time of Madeleine McCann’s disappearance I was in London. I have not been to Portugal for three years.”
Meanwhile, Portugal’s justice minister backed top cop Alipio Ribeiro, who said the decision to make Kate and Gerry McCann suspects was “hasty”.

THE cop who first smeared Kate and Gerry McCann was accused in court yesterday of covering up the torture of a mum in a separate case.
Goncalo Amaral, 48, was alleged by his boss to have been “hasty” in making missing Maddie’s parents formal suspects.
Yesterday he faced claims he concealed evidence that four colleagues allegedly beat Leonor Cipriano until she admitted killing daughter Joana.
The girl, nine, went missing from Portimao 3½ years ago.
Leonor, 36, is serving 16 years for her murder, despite retracting her statement – and the failure of cops to find Joana’s body.
A judge will rule in two weeks if tubby Amaral should face a criminal trial over what many say is Portugal’s worst miscarriage of justice. Amaral denies any wrongdoing.
The dad of three worked on the Maddie case after she went missing from her parents’ holiday apartment in Praia da Luz last May.
The 18-stone officer made Kate and Gerry formal suspects, or arguidos, in September despite having no concrete evidence.
He was booted off the case in October after claiming British cops were trying to shield the McCanns, both 39, of Rothley, Leics.

I go to your web site regularly to follow up the case of missing Madeleine McCann.
As a mother of a 4-year old daughter, it is heart-warming to see that individual people care about this little girl and want this
horrible story to end.
I cannot do much to help. However, I have been wondering if the authorities and investigators have really checked the role of organized crime?
For instance, the italian crime organisation Camorra’s speciality is drug and human trafficking. Drugs like cocaine and hashis come to Europe
from or through North Africa – via Spain. In Spain the dirty money is laundered in real estate business. This just lead me to think
that what could lie behind this famous Romigen real estate agency? If the letters G, E and N mean Genaro Acosta Gonzalez and we know that he has connecions to real estate business and Italy, could we assume that…
Camorra operates in many countries and have really good networks and logistics with corrupt border control people. If they are experts in trafficking drugs and prostitutes and own apartments everywhere on the Mediterranian coast, they may as well be capable of planning an abduction of a 4-year old and hiding her carefully.
After reading a book called Gomorra, written by Roberto Saviano, you start to realize that organized crime is everywhere, these people are ruthless and have good connections to politicians and even police.
I do not know if my thoughts help at all, but sincerely wish you good luck with the Madeleine case.

If you cover the eyes of Luis Antonio and imagine the eyeglasses of the man in the playground on his face ... it could be the same person. Also, look at the stance of the person in both images plus the body type. Also, the mystery man and Antonio have olive type skin. I am sure it could be verified if Luis ever shaved his head. What do you think Brian?

I just remembered one of your first drawings on page 1 said - "beach of light / go there, ocean sign trash V rocks, 26A", so I googled Beach of Light and it came up with the below - and it says there is a sandy side and a rocky side - do you think that has anything to do with the case? I know they searched the reservoirs, and I pray that she is not found that way, but just wondered if your drawing had anything to do with the latest searches?

I don't know -- I'm in the U.S. and I find the news updates fairly frustrating, as we here of something, then it disappears like nothing happened, i.e. was the man they "found" from the sketch admittedly going door to door asking for money for an orphanage. I imagine you are frustrated too, i.e. no one really examing Murat's house as you've repeatedly recommended.

I have discovered that many British news agencies are more like The National Enquire that we are used too...I have also found the BBC and Sky News to be the most reliable and accountable for what they print.

This is the latest story today, dont know if this is going to do any good though!! Could be tidying up any loose ends on this case, but i wish they would look closer at the abduction theory, before they shelve it for good. Maybe when they release K and G from the arguido status, more might come out about what happened, that was previously not allowed to be released! DETECTIVES investigating the disappearance of Madeleine McCann are re-interviewing key witnesses in a final bid to crack the case.
Five staff members who were at the Ocean Club complex on the night she went missing have been quizzed in recent days as pressure mounts to conclude the investigation.
Among those interviewed was the estranged husband of Robert Murat’s girlfriend Michaela Walczuch. Luis Antonio, a pool cleaner, worked at the resort last summer.
In a fresh development, three members of the so-called Tapas Nine, who were at dinner with Kate and Gerry McCann on the evening of May 3 when Madeleine vanished, are also likely to be questioned.
The burst of activity comes just days after Portugal’s justice minister Alberto Costa said the case was almost at an end.
It is understood the Policia Judiciaria are preparing to shelve the nine-month inquiry. But the head of the investigation, Paulo Rebelo, has demanded that certain key statements are double checked.
Antonio, 37, who still lives with his wife, despite her being the girlfriend of British suspect Robert Murat, was first interviewed last May, just weeks after Madeleine went missing.
A police source told the Portuguese newspaper 24 Horas that the fresh round of interviews was intended to unearth any tiny details missed initially.
The source said: “Several police interviews have been repeated and the statements are being analysed to try to find any lead that could result in a new line of investigation.”
Portuguese detectives are also expected to travel to Leicestershire to oversee interviews of three of the McCanns’ holiday friends – Russell O’Brien, Jane Tanner and David Payne.
Formal letters requesting the interviews have now been received by the Home Office and will be handed to Leicestershire Police next week.
They want to clear up alleged inconsistencies in their original statements.

Murat didn't travelled alone in his return to Portugal
Robert Murat came back to Portugal, days before Madeleine was kidnapped, and he was accompanied by another man. Murat spend around 10 days in UK and was in Exeter, where his sister Samantha lives, for some time. Local witnesses, in UK, confirmed that Robert Murat was seen with another man in his 40's, 1.70/1.75 meters tall, short hair and tanned skin. Those witnesses couldn't give more details of his face because the man was using a hat. They left Faro airport and Murat went to Praia da Luz, while the other man stayed near Lagos city. Questioned about this detail, Portuguese CID refused to comment.
Exeter is the place were Russel O'Brien and Jane Tanner, McCann friends that were with them at Ocean Resort, live. A possible connection between the couple and Robert Murat was referred by the Press, but both Murat the McCann's spokesman denied they ever met. Russel O'Brien and Jane Tanner moved to Exeter four weeks before they came to Portugal, on vacations, with the McCann couple. Jane Tanner was the witness that told Police she saw a man carrying a child, near the apartment 5A, at Ocean Resort, around 9.30pm, the night Madeline disappeared. The description she gave was later made public by Portuguese CID, on May 25: a white male, approximately 35 to 40 years old, of medium build, and 1,70/1.75 meters tall, wearing a dark jacket, and had light beige trousers and dark shoes.
We showed several photos, taken during the first days of the searches for Madeleine to the British witnesses that confirmed Murat was accompanied by other man, in his return to Portugal, but the man wasn't among those pictured. One of those witnesses noticed that a person who was on the pictures, talking with Robert Murat and following a canine unit of GNR (Portuguese Rural Police) was also in several web pages, but near Gerry McCann, Madeleine and the twins. The picture (1) was taken before Madeleine was kidnapped, and is clear that the place is inside the Ocean Resort. The man in question, with shaved hair, sunglasses and strongly build, appears in several photos, published in British and Spanish newspapers, among Police officers and close to Robert Murat. Our question to Portuguese CID about this man received the same answer: no comments, details of the investigation are covered by Secrecy Law.

Firstable, sorry for my english. Last month I had a dream, the only dream that I ever had in relation to Mm,I didn´t think that it could be important , but I felt it very real and all this time I have been thinking about it. In that time I thought that it was ridiculous because the information didnt have relation with I read in the news papers (in that time). I can`t remember the details but the most important is this:
A lot of people including me was looking MM, We were sure that she was in a certain big house, maybe some kind of place with a big kitchen or big restorant, something like that . We looked in all that place but we couldn`t find her. But sudenly I found a hidden place like a door and when I opened, A lot of children went upstairs, I was very happy, I was waiting to see Mm,but suddenly I recognice to a boy he was Yeremy!!.I was surpriced! I hugged him . And without telling him something he read my mind and said to me,""she is not here ,she was taken to Sweaden"(Mm). .....And my dream was over. After that I waked up, and I laugth of me because I was mixing two differents stories.
Now, I have a dout, The news says that these cases are related and some draws of you shows a cross( It could be the flag`s cross????) . I need to know your opinion, could you be nice ,please, and think about this possibility or find out if your information fix with sweaden.

I think Madeleine is in Murat's basement, and there is a cross in the room with a chain...I have seen this many times before. I'm still not able to come up with any other location...I realize that many people don't believe this, and it's unlikely, but there has to be a reason why I keep seeing the same thing.

You mentioned that you have not received any emails regarding Madeleine for a few days, its probably because you mentioned that you cant fully concentrate on her case anymore, people might have got the impression that you are giving up, you probably don't realize it brian, but we are all pinning our hopes on you finding Madeleine. Also Matthew (Daily Merlin) is not posting as much info either.

Huge Police Hunt For Missing Schoolgirl

Hundreds of police officers are searching for a nine-year-old girl who has been missing from her home since yesterday evening.
She is believed to have stayed for after-school activities at West Moor Junior School.
West Yorkshire Police have launched a search of the surrounding area for Shannon, who they said has never been missing before.
Speaking outside Shannon's school, Chief Superintendent Barry South said there were now more than 200 police officers working on the inquiry.
Mr South said the force had closed its nearby training facility for the day to help in the search.
He said he would not go into any details about the police inquiry and said his priority was simply to find the nine-year-old who he said was "very vulnerable".
Asked how Shannon's mother is coping, the officer said: "It's a traumatic ordeal for any parent.
"We've got officers with her at this moment in time.
"My priority is locating Shannon safe and well."
Shannon is described as white, around 4ft 1in and of slim build, with shoulder length, medium-brown coloured hair, which was possibly tied up in a ponytail. She has blue eyes and freckles.
She was wearing a black school jumper with a school logo on it, a white cotton t-shirt, black trousers and a black, waist-length coat with fur round the hood.
She was also wearing pink and grey "Bratz" furry boots.
Her uncle, Neil Hyett, 36, said dozens of local people had been out until 4am looking for the little girl.
He said his niece, who lives next door to him with her mother, Karen, and stepfather, Craig, had not gone missing before and was a "timid" child. He said: "We are extremely worried."

David Marcellus Payne is not the man in that photo, nor is there any reason for him to be connected to this case. The David Payne that is connected to the case (and to the same town as Robert Murat) is the friend of the McCanns who was on vacation with them.
Someone seems to send things like this to you every few pages even though it's been covered several times before on the previous ones. Those last pictures sent in by Alex are pictures of four different people. Not all black men look alike! Message forums just aren't the best places to get information. Of anything that might be called a message forum, I think your site is the best resource. I wish other readers would take greater care with this name (however many people may be named David Payne), and also read the older pages so you can stop wasting your bandwidth by posting the same things repeatedly. It was reported a while back that the police know who it is in the photos but they aren't releasing that info to the public. Unless some other agency takes over the case, it probably never will be released.
In addition to you being busier, I also think the email has dropped off because most of the speculation was based on 'news' coverage (using the term loosely) and your drawings and there just hasn't been anything new to go on lately. Guess the press finally got tired of making stuff up everyday, which is no doubt for the best.
Sorry to read that the girl in France was not Madeleine. Perhaps that's another indication your dream drawings are indeed correct. I think that distinctive looking hotel that you've drawn in such detail more than once (and its guests), where Philomena McCann said the press were staying, needs to be reinvestigated (preferably by the authorities, not readers). I wondered if the P could refer to Fr. Pacheco or the Pope, but that's really just speculation. If it's Fr. Pacheco, I was thinking maybe whoever did it confessed to him. (Not the McCanns as the papers speculated, but whoever really is responsible.) He wouldn't be able to talk about it even if they did though. We've been over that ground already, too. Now I'm thinking the P just stands for Portugal or Praia da Luz or perhaps to emphasize Police, considering the other room you've been drawing has been connected to the police station now. Ironically, it could stand for Payne, but if the McCanns don't suspect their friends we probably shouldn't either. Last idea is that it stands for Press or someone in the press who was maybe staying at that hotel, but that's not much to go on... your dream info probably would have been a lot more specific than that.
Hopefully, something will resolve this case soon. Whenever it happens, I have a feeling your dream drawings are going to be validated.

Thanks for the email, you make some good points...everyone is trying their best to help, and I appreciate and post all the help thats offered.
The PJ knows who this man is, and he is pictured with Murat...I realize the we discovered this a long time ago, but it is a very import detail in this case.

Why are all my missing person cases public?
The reason for making all my missing person cases public is simple...there is no possible way I can investigate these myself. I add at least one new case a day, 7 days a week with no vacations...this leaves little free time to do individual case work. Making everything public far outweighs working in secrecy...what you get is what I dreamt, nothing more or nothing less. When I post my dream drawing on a case, I usually post a translation too...this translation includes everything I know about the case, nothing is kept from you the reader. As with most people, I do not remember a majority of my dreams, and going back to specific dd's (dream drawings) does not usually bring back anything additional I have not already posted. I am not a psychic and can only work via dreaming or lucid dreaming, so with each request, I literally have to 'sleep on it'. I am not concerned about my dreams not being right, however I am concerned about letting those who can make a difference in solving a case, do so. I have been doing this for several years now, and will continue to do it in a way I know works. I have never charged to open a case, and have no plans on doing so in the future...all work, including work from those helping me is done 100% pro bono.
